The purpose of this event is to give artists a venue to show their talents with materials that normally end up in a landfill.  In addition, art made from recycled materials can educate visitors to the environmental issues and the need for sustainable practices.

Definition of Recycled Art for this show - All work displayed must be original, at least 80% recycled/reused materials. Our criteria for recycled is using elements that were originally manufactured and would be thrown away or recycled/reused if it were not for your creativity to reformat it in a manner different from its intended original use. A good criteria is that the materials you use are considered junk, or would have ended up in the landfill or recycling center if you hadn’t rescued them for art.

About the selection criteria.  This art exhibit is open to all ages of artists. NO SHIPPING of art will be accepted. Accepted entries must be able to be delivered and picked up (if not sold) on specified dates by the artist. The event is open to artists of any location, provided they are willing to transport their work to Artworks Gallery 210 N. Main  Kokomo, IN.  Up to three pieces of art can be submitted for entry into the show.  This is a juried exhibit,  a panel of judges will select the final pieces for the show.  If selected, you will be informed which pieces may be displayed during the show.

Sales.  Artwork submitted and not for sale should have the application price listed as NFS (Not For Sale). All art for sale will have a 70/30 split (Artist 70% and KAA 30%).  If you are a KAA member the split for a sales would be 75/25.  To become a member go to kaaonline.org. Individual Membership is $29.00.

Kokomo Art Association does not provide insurance. Artists are advised to insure their artwork independently.  KAA is not responsible for any damage or loss during exhibition.
